💡 About Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls, straddling the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe, is home to one of the greatest natural wonders on Earth — a colossal curtain of falling water on the Zambezi River that ranks among the largest waterfalls in the world. The local name, Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning "the Smoke that Thunders," perfectly captures its awesome power.

At over 1,700 metres wide and more than 100 metres high, the falls send up a spray of mist visible from many kilometres away, and their thunderous roar can be heard long before they come into view. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this spectacle is one of the most breathtaking sights on the planet.

The towns on either side of the falls have become the adventure-sports capital of Africa. Here the brave can bungee jump from the historic bridge over the gorge, white-water raft the churning rapids below, or take a heart-stopping dip in the Devil's Pool, a natural rock pool right at the very edge of the precipice.

Surrounded by national parks teeming with elephants, hippos and other wildlife, Victoria Falls combines natural grandeur with thrilling adventure and classic safari. It is one of Africa's most spectacular and unforgettable destinations.
