💡 About Bogotá

Bogotá, the high-altitude capital of Colombia, sprawls across a green Andean plateau at 2,640 metres, ringed by mountains and often wrapped in cool mountain mist. It is a vast, energetic city that has transformed dramatically in recent decades.

The historic La Candelaria district is a maze of colonial streets, colourful colonial houses and grand plazas, home to superb museums including the Gold Museum, which holds the world's finest collection of pre-Columbian gold. Street art covers the walls in an open-air gallery.

Bogotá is famous for its cycling culture — every Sunday, over 100 kilometres of streets close to cars for the Ciclovía. A cable car and funicular climb to the summit of Monserrate, offering a breathtaking view across the endless city below.
