💡 About Geneva

Geneva, cradled at the southern tip of its namesake lake where the snow-crowned Mont Blanc dominates the horizon, is one of the world's great centres of diplomacy — home to the European headquarters of the United Nations, the Red Cross and dozens of international organisations.

The symbol of the city is the Jet d'Eau, a fountain that shoots a plume of water 140 metres into the air above the lake. Geneva is also the global capital of luxury watchmaking, its shop windows glittering with the world's finest timepieces.

With its cosmopolitan population, pristine lakeshore and proximity to the Alps, Geneva combines Swiss precision with international flair. Just outside the city, the CERN laboratory operates the largest particle accelerator on Earth, probing the secrets of the universe.
