💡 About Hong Kong

Hong Kong is one of the most vertical cities on Earth, boasting more skyscrapers than any other city in the world — over 500 buildings taller than 150 metres crowd its dramatic harbour skyline. A former British colony returned to China in 1997, it operates under a "one country, two systems" framework.

Despite its dense urban core, over 70 percent of Hong Kong's territory is countryside, mountains and protected parkland, offering hiking trails and beaches just minutes from the financial district. The Star Ferry has crossed Victoria Harbour since 1888, and the Peak Tram has climbed to the city's best viewpoint since 1888 as well.

Hong Kong is a legendary food destination where humble street-side dai pai dong stalls sit alongside some of Asia's finest restaurants. Its dim sum tradition, bustling night markets and neon-lit streets make it one of the most sensorially intense cities anywhere.
